Every year, Meals on Wheels hosts their annual Thanksgiving Day Meal Delivery event, where all the day's meals are prepared and packaged solely by volunteers.  On the morning of Thanksgiving, nearly 1,000 volunteers show up to our facilities off 410 & Babcock (at their assigned delivery time) to pick 4 to 7 turkey dinners, flower arrangements, and special holiday gifts to deliver to homebound seniors who would otherwise spend the day alone.  Families, civic organizations and youth groups are all encouraged to participate as this is a great team building event. In addition to delivering meals, volunteers have the option to prepare and package the turkey dinner right here at our facility or help in other capacities.  Register online or for more information, call Volunteer Services at (210) 735 - 5115.
